The next time that you’re craving a chocolate dip, this is the dessert dip recipe for you. When the cold weather arrives, my kids request this dip and hot chocolate. Every single time.
You might as well just add this to my favorite list of popular dip recipes. I love this dip because it reminds me of camping, without actually having to go camping! LOL. But really, it’s just that good. It’s creamy and delicious and topped with marshmallows…what more could you want?
Warm Skillet Smores Dip Recipe
The preheated oven melts the marshmallows perfectly and makes it that gooey texture that smores are all about. Since this recipe takes minimal ingredients, there is no reason that you can’t make this up once that hunger pain strikes!
The boys literally run to the table and start dipping right away once they find out that this dessert dip is happening. I’m totally okay with that, too because as the cook, I get the first dip!
How do you know when the skillet dip is warmed all the way through?
Once the oven starts to melt the chocolate and the marshmallows are toasted golden brown, that’s your clue that this dip is done and ready to be served. Just make certain to let it cool a bit because it’s going to be hot!

Since this is a dessert dip, you want to serve with all things sweet! I love dipping in graham crackers but you can also do others things like vanilla wafers or even animal crackers, too.

- 3 chocolate bars or chocolate chips
- 3 cups of mini marshmallows
- Graham crackers
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Put the chocolate on the bottom of an 8-inch skillet in a single layer.
- Top with marshmallows.
- Put in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Once the marshmallows start to melt and turn brown, you're going to turn on the broiler and bake for another 2-3 minutes.
- Take out of the oven and top with graham crackers that are crushed up. Serve with graham crackers for dipping.
If you use milk chocolate chips instead of a candy bar, you will want to use a heaping 1/2 a cup or approximately 4.65 ounces (.58 of a cup)
