Alcohol-Free Mint Julep

But back to this amazing virgin Mint Julep recipe and how easy it is to make. All you have to do is make the simple syrup in a small saucepan, remove it from heat, and combine it with some limeade (or lemon juice if you’re desperate).

Start by placing fresh mint sprigs at the bottom of your glass, adding a touch of menthe syrup for that classic mint flavor. In a large bowl, mix club soda with lime slices and half of the lemon mixture to create a zesty base. Pour over lots of ice for a cool, invigorating experience. Serve in traditional julep cups or any fun container for extra flair.

If you want to make it a little fizzy, you can add ginger ale, but I stick with some cups of water the way juleps are traditionally made.

Add some crushed ice, and you’re ready for derby day at the Kentucky Derby.

So simple, but so fun–especially for the kids.
