The biggest part of this recipe is making up the teriyaki sauce. And let’s be real – it really does steal the show!
This is a big hit with my family because of the flavor and taste. We’ll also change it up a bit sometimes and add on some sesame seeds and sliced green onions, too.
Can I use a different type of oil to fry up the chicken?
You bet. If you’re not a fan of vegetable oil, you can use sesame oil or even coconut oil, too. It’s up to you really on what type of cooking oil you want to use.

Chicken Teriyaki Skillet Recipe

Ingredients
- ½ cup of soy sauce
- ¼ cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon of pepper
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
- 1 packaged frozen broccoli florets, cooked
- 2 cups of white rice, cooked
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with one tablespoon cold water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, ground ginger, garlic, and pepper. Once that is combined, you're going to add in the chicken and one cup of the sauce into a ziplock bag. Let marinate for 1 hour. Make certain to keep the rest of the sauce.
- Take the chicken and cook it up in the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Take your cooked broccoli and the cooked rice and stir them together to combine.
- Grab the rest of the sauce that you've set aside and mix with the cornstarch and water mixture. Stir. Pour it over chicken and rice and broccoli and stir. Cook it all for 10 minutes until the sauce is thick and ready.
