Fast and Easy Instant Pot Beans and Beef

Instant Pot Beans and Beef is one of my favorite ways to eat beef and beans! It’s a great pressure cooker recipe that creates a wonderful family meal. If you’re looking for a hearty dinner recipe, this is the one for you. I have a lot of other Easy Ground Beef Recipes to check out!

This Instant Pot beef and bean recipe is one of my favorite ways to use my electric pressure cooker. It literally cooks the dried beans in half the cook time or my slow cooker or any other kitchen appliance.

Instant Pot Beans and Beef

What I love about this recipe is that you can just dump it in and cook it all in one big pot. This makes for a super simple dinner recipe that everyone can easily enjoy. You don’t even need a large skillet for the cooked ground beef!

Every time that I make this delicious recipe, my boys ask me what took me so long! I’d say that’s a pretty solid positive review for this easy pressure cook beef and onion recipe.

Can you add veggies to this soup recipe?

You bet. Since the recipe has a bean mixture to it that could include baked beans or kidney beans, why not add in some veggies for flavors and taste? You can easily add in red bell peppers to give it a sweet flavor.

How can you cut down on the fat content?

The easiest way to cut down on the fat content for this recipe is to swap out the ground beef and use ground turkey instead. You’ll still get that hearty taste and flavor with protein as well.

Instant Pot Beans and Beef

Yield: 8 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour

This is such a great way to cook using your Instant Pot!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of beef stew meat
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 16 ounce 15 bean dry soup mix, but leave out the seasoning pack
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (28 ounces)
  • 4 cups of chicken stock
  • 1-2 tsps salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

Put the Instant Pot on saute mode and add the beef stew meat and the onions. Saute until the beef is cooked. Add in the rest of the ingredients.

Put on and close the lid to the Instant Pot and turn to pressure valve to seal. Cook on manual high pressure for 40 minutes.

Once done, allow for a quick pressure release.
