I make soup nearly every week as it’s such a comforting staple in our weekly meal plans. This 5 ingredient broccoli cheese soup is one of my favorite soup tastes and flavor!

It works equally well as a quick stovetop meal or crockpot recipes, depending on what works best for you and your family. With a prep time of fewer than 15 minutes, it’s such a simple soup recipe to make!

Soup can be a filling and indulgent meal if you are armed with a great recipe. I also find the soup to be a great way to sneak healthy ingredients into our family meals without the kids being any the wiser! I love to sneak in pureed or diced vegetables that the kids might not be willing to eat otherwise. I call this a mom win!

Can dogs eat broccoli cheddar soup?

If you’re wondering is this soup is safe for dogs to eat, it’s not. The onions are not safe for your dog to consume nor are the majority of other ingredients in this recipe.

Make certain to keep this soup away from your dog so that you don’t have to worry about them eating it and getting ill.

How hard is this soup recipe to make?

It’s not hard at all but there are a few things to remember. Cooking it on the stove over medium heat is a simple recipe but you can also cook it in the crock pot as well. If you cook it on the stove, it’s ready in less than 30 minutes of time! (you can also use a dutch oven to cook on the stove as well!) Once you bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and get ready to eat soon!

Because this recipe uses evaporated milk rather than regular milk you can easily throw all of these ingredients in the slow cooker for 2 hours on low and come up with the same results. (Milk can separate if left too long in a slow cooker and is usually best added towards the end of cooking time.)
