This Birthday Cake Puppy Chow is the perfect sweet treat! If you’re a fan of muddy buddy recipes, this is one that you’re not going to want to miss! The combination of the cake mix and powdered sugar really sets this recipe over the top. This is one of my favorite puppy chow recipes.

This is literally the perfect recipe for a birthday party or other fun celebration! Just melt the white candy melts on the Chex cereal to get started on this simple and tasty dessert! So delicious and easy to make.

The great thing about making puppy chow is that it’s a fast and simple process. The hardest part is restricting yourself so that you don’t eat all the rice Chex cereal that you’re going to be pouring out the gallon sized bag.

My boys eat a ton – like a lot, y’all. And I always know that when I need a snack and I need it fast, this simple recipe is one that they’ll love to eat over and over again. They’re big fans of anything coated in chocolate and sugar!

How do you store puppy chow?

To make certain that it keeps its crunch, you’re going to want to store this in an airtight container or bag.

You also don’t have to worry about storing this in the fridge so as long as you can find a way to keep the air out, you should be good to go.

Birthday Cake Puppy Chow

This Birthday Cake Puppy Chow is such a wonderful flavor!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Rice Chex
  • 12 ounces of White Candy Melts
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup birthday sprinkles to add to the mix
  • 1 tsp sprinkles for the top
  • brown bag

Instructions

Measure out the cereal and put it into a large bowl. Set aside.

Pour the powdered sugar inside the plastic bag along with the cake mix ad 1/2 cup of the sprinkles.

Melt white candy melts according to the directions on the bag.

Once melted, pour over the cereal and fold in.

Once coated, add the cereal to the plastic bag and shake.

Pour out on a baking pan and let harden. Add birthday sprinkles on top. Enjoy.
