This Blue Puppy Chow Recipe is great for a party snack or a 4th of July recipe. This Chex muddy buddies recipe is also perfect for a fun baby shower, too! I’m a huge fan of puppy chow recipes because of how simple and easy it is to make.

The best part about making this powdered sugar-covered treat is that I can grab a handful every time that I walk through the kitchen. If you’re ready for a tasty snack idea, get ready to love the ease of this simple dessert. It’s just so good!

You can also turn this into a delicious red white and blue recipe for Independence Day, too. This just shows how versatile this snack can be.

Blue Puppy Chow Recipe

The biggest thing to remember is that you’re going to pour mixture over cereal stirring until evenly coated. Be careful when stirring as you don’t want to break up the cereal. Once you add powdered sugar into the mix, it starts to get interesting and certainly tasty. Then, you just have to spread on waxed paper to cool. That’s it!

This is one of my boy’s favorite snacks because of how quick and easy it is to make. I can have this done for them in no time at all, which is how they like all their desserts to happen.

You bet. Some people like to add in peanut butter or even white chocolate chips. You can alter it to taste however you’d like! There is always room for more sweetness to happen.

How do you store puppy chow?

Make certain to store your puppy chow in an airtight container. It doesn’t have to be kept in the fridge but you do need to keep the air away from it so that it stays crispy.

Blue Puppy Chow Recipe

This Blue Puppy Chow Recipe is so delicious and easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex
  • 6 ounces of dark/royal Royal Blue Candy Melts
  • 6 ounces of Blue Candy Melts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 package of Blue Sprinkles
  • 2 gallon-sized bags

Instructions

Measure out 3 cups of cereal in two different bowls. Set aside.

Pout 1/2 cup powdered sugar into two different bags and set aside.

Melt 6 ounces of dark blue candy melts according to directions on the bag.

Once melted, pour it over the cereal in one of the bowls and fold in.

Mix in the blue sprinkles.

Once the cereal is coated, pour it into the bag and shake it with the sugar.

Repeat with the blue candy melts.

Pour the puppy chow out of the bag onto a wax-covered baking pan to cool
