Easily Addictive Churro Puppy Chow Recipe
This Churro Puppy Chow Recipe is a simple recipe to whip up that tastes amazing every single time. I love this easy dessert and it’s actually one of my favorite puppy chow recipes!
The sweet chocolate with the rice Chex cereal makes the perfect flavor and texture. And once you top with the sugar and cinnamon, you’ve created a truly amazing flavor and taste!
Get ready – you’re not going to be able to stop snacking on this one!

I love this snack mix because I can literally grab a handful as I’m walking out the door. It might be a bit messy because of the powdered sugar, but it’s 100% worth it for that flavor! There’s a reason I love this churro Chex mix.

You don’t want to add this to a small bowl. With all the stirring and adding of ingredients, you’ll want to pour the cereal into a large bowl to have plenty of room. The brown paper bag is great because it really gives you room to shake!
This is a family favorite for sure. I’ve been making puppy chow for a really long time and the boys are still obsessed with it, which is good. And since this recipe has Nutella in it instead of melted white chocolate, it’s safe to say that this is a unique and fun flavor, too.

What else could you add to this muddy buddy recipe?
Really anything that you want. Chocolate and peanut butter immediately come to mind but don’t forget that chocolate chips could be a great addition as well. Try some Mexican chocolate or even stir in vanilla for a different taste. So many options.

How long does puppy chow last?
In our house, not very long! But in all reality, as long as you’re keeping it in an airtight container, it should last for 3-4 days without any type of issue.

Delicious! Tastes just like churros! Will be bringing these up to a ladies weekend away and I am sure this will be a hit!
I hope they love it! I know I do!
Am I the only one that does not see chocolate chips in the ingredient list?
I am so sorry – the directions have been updated to talk about the hazelnut spread, not chocolate chips. Thanks!
When do I add the sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon??
Hi, thank you for asking for clarification! It has been corrected on the recipe card to reflect adding all the sugars and cinnamon at the proper stage of the recipe. Thank you!
Am I missing the instructions? Do you just stir it all together or do you heat the nutella? Not clear at all.
Thank you so much for pointing this out! I have corrected the issue on the Nutella Puppy Show recipe card to give all the details steps! I hope you enjoy the flavor, thanks!
What else aside Nutella can you use? I have children allergic to nuts in our group. This is a wonderful recipe I would like to try, however, I wouldn’t be able to use the Nutella.
My youngest is allergic to tree nuts. He loves all 4 flavors of Lekkco. You can even get the 4 pack on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3tFT6CC
Biscoff cookie butter spread would probably be yummy, too.
Hope that helps! 🙂
Thanks for that Bischoff’s idea! I am not a fan of hazelnuts and even though I have tried Nutella and kind of liked the chocolate flavor, I think that in larger quantities, it could become offensive. Hershey’s used to have a chocolate spread out, but I am not sure if it’s still available. I love Puppy Chow/Muddy Buddies so I am saving some of your recipes for them. Thanks for sharing them with us!
