Using rice Chex cereal makes for quite a crunchy texture and I love then tasting the sweetness of the powdered sugar as well. But the real star of the show is that we actually use a cookie mix, too! It’s one of those key ingredients that really set this recipe apart.

My boys are pretty much obsessed with anything sweet so you know that this dessert is a hit. I like to serve this after corned beef and cabbage to really have that festive St. Patrick’s Day feast!

Why is it called puppy chow?

Well..because it kind of looks like a bowl of “chow” that would attract the pups. And now that you have that visual in your head, just know that this puppy chow is way better tasting!

How do you keep puppy chow fresh?

Just make certain that you store it in an airtight container. This doesn’t have to be kept in the fridge but you do want to keep the air out of it and keep it as sealed as possible.
