The glitz and glam of the gold & silver adds a festive touch that makes them perfect for New Year’s!

Take note that this post includes two different recipes.  We have the one for the Champagne Cupcakes using a canned white icing.  But, we also have a recipe for Champagne Buttercream Frosting if you prefer to use that.

Specialty Ingredients:

The following ingredients are affiliate links on Amazon because they may be a bit hard to find in your normal store.  I wanted you to be able to see exactly which things we are using.

White Cake Mix – I like Betty Crocker, but I am honestly not loyal. I have also used store brand and been happy.

White Icing – See above 🙂

Gold Sprinkles – You know I like Wilton. But, you can get a set with gold and silver from Walmart.

Silver Sprinkles – This set includes gold, silver, and clear.

Reminder, not all ingredients in the Champagne Cupcakes Recipe are linked above, just the ones that may be a bit difficult to find or that you might be unsure of what to look for.

Must Have Resources:

When making Champagne Cupcakes at home, you really need to have the following Amazon affiliate tools on hand.

Cupcake Liners – These foil metallic cupcake liners are the perfect choice for these Champagne Cupcakes.

1M Icing Tip – I linked to the Wilton Star as it can be used create perfect icing swirls on cupcakes.

Piping Bag – Save yourself a major headache and just buy disposable piping bags. Seriously, it isn’t worth trying to clean them.  I promise!

Mixer – I LOVE my Kenmore mixer and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Cupcake Tin –  I haven’t used these AmazonBasics muffin tins, but I have many of their branded items and have been very pleased. I even replaced all my plates with AmazonBasics plates and haven’t been happier. So, I believe these will be great!

When making anything that starts with a boxed cake mix, you don’t have to worry about so many measurements.  The measurements of dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, and salt are all done for you.  This will help you to produce a light and fluffy dessert!

Champagne Cupcakes Recipe Notes:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and allow it to actually reach that before placing the cupcakes into it.

A toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean when the cupcake is done.  I would choose a cupcake in the center of the muffins cups to test, not one on the outside.

Allow the butter to reach room temperature before using it.

Add the powdered sugar a cup at a time to keep from having a nice coating of white powder everywhere.

I like to add about a 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract right before putting the mixer on high speed.

For a whiter cupcake, use 4 egg whites instead of 3 eggs.  It still won’t be totally white, due to the butter, but it will be whiter.  You could avoid the yellow but using a 1/4 cup of coconut oil instead of butter.
