There’s really not a lot to this red white and blue ice cream! It’s a fast way to make a delicious dessert that everyone is going to love. The flavor is fun, the look is awesome, and you don’t have to use an ice cream machine which is a total bonus!

My boys LOVE this recipe and I agree! I think that it’s probably one of my favorites to make during the summer months! I really enjoy using gel food coloring because I think that it adds such a vibrant color to the dessert! It may look a little bit different than the “traditional” ice cream that you’d buy at the store but this is what I love about it! This is one of my favorite 4th of July desserts!

What do you store homemade ice cream in?

Anything that is freezer-safe with a lid works! I make it in a cake pan or a loaf pan, but I’ll store it in an airtight glass container.

No Churn Firecracker Ice Cream Recipe

Making your own ice cream is super simple! This recipe is the proof!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tablespoon(s) of Blue Gel Food Coloring
  • 2 Tablespoon(s) of Red Gel Food Coloring
  • 1 Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 16 Ounce(s) of Cool Whip

Homemade Whipped Cream Ingredients

  • 2 Cup(s) of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoon(s) of powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Mix the whipped cream and the sweetened condensed milk in a bowl.
  • Stir well and then add 1/3 of that mixture into a different bowl. Add the red food coloring and stir.
  • Grab a different bowl and add 1/3 of the mixture. Add the blue food coloring and stir.
  • For the last of the mixture, leave it white.
  • Put a tablespoon at a time into the loaf pan and alternate the colors. Take a butter knife and swirl it around mixing the colors.
  • Put in the freezer overnight for firm ice cream or 4-6 hours for softer ice cream.
  • To Make Homemade Whipped Cream: 
  • Add the heavy whipping cream and the powdered sugar to a mixer bowl and mix with a mixer until stiff peaks are made.
