Puppy Chow Rice Krispie Treats
Even though this recipe isn’t hard to do, there are a few things to keep in mind. When you add the marshmallows to the butter, you’re going to want to keep stirring until it’s melted and smooth. This not only takes away any lumps of marshmallows but also prevents them from burning, too.
I’ve made this recipe for years for my boys and it’s always a huge hit. They love that they get two sweet recipes flavors in one easy bite and I love how fast and simple they are to make!
How do you keep this from sticking and making a mess?
I like to use coconut oil spray on my baking dish and on my wooden spoon that I use for stirring, too. Parchment paper is quite the life saver as well!

How do you store Rice Krispie Treats?
You don’t have to worry about keeping these in the fridge, which is nice. Just store them in a container or a bag with a lid and that’s all you have to do!

Puppy Chow Rice Krispie Treats
This simple dessert is a great way to get a crunchy flavor with wonderful taste!
Ingredients
- 6 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal
- 3 T of Butter
- 10 oz of Mini Marshmallows
- 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 6 oz of Candy Melts Sprinkles
Instructions
Put Rice Krispie cereal into a large bowl.
Spray a 9X11 baking pan with non-stick spray.
In a pan on the stove over medium heat, melt the butter and then add in the marshmallows. Stirring the whole time until melted.
Once melted, pour over the top of the cereal in the bowl. Use a wooden spoon (sprayed with non-stick spray) to stir it all together.
When all is mixed well, pour out on a baking pan and press down with fingers. Add sprinkles. Let dry for 1 hour.
Once they are dry, put them out on wax paper and use a cookie cutter to make shapes.
Put the shapes into a plastic bag with powdered sugar and more sprinkles. Shake gently.
Put back on wax paper.
Melt chocolate according to directions and dip the treats. Add more sprinkles if you want. Set aside to dry.
