Instructions to Make These Whimsical Unicorn Donuts
Making these dreamy donuts is surprisingly simple—and way more fun than store-bought. Here’s how to make them:
- Prepare the batter – Mix until smooth and spoon into a greased donut pan.
- Bake – Pop them in the oven until golden. Let them cool before glazing.
- Make the glaze – Combine powdered sugar and milk. Divide and color each portion with different pastel shades.
- Decorate – Dip the top of each donut into the colored glazes. Swirl gently if you want a marbled look.
- Top with sprinkles – While the glaze is still wet, add your favorite whimsical toppings!
Let them set for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy the smiles!
Dessert Tips and Tricks
- Use a piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner cut off to fill your donut pan neatly.
- Let the donuts cool completely before glazing, or the icing might melt right off.
- For an extra pop of fun, use edible glitter or gold leaf on top!
Troubleshooting Unicorn Donuts
- Too dry? Slightly underbake or add a splash more milk to the batter next time.
- Glaze too runny? Add a little more powdered sugar to thicken it up.
- Colors mixing too much? Try dipping in one color first, then drizzle others over the top for a cleaner look.

Unicorn Donuts Recipe Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If you’ve added glaze, place parchment paper between layers to avoid sticking.
To refresh the donuts, pop them in the microwave for 5–10 seconds. You can also warm them in a low oven to revive that fresh-baked flavor.
🎉 Bonus Tip: Leftover unicorn donuts make a great base for donut sundaes—just slice in half and top with ice cream, syrup, and sprinkles!
