This easy dessert recipe proves you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to make a delicious recipe. A few simple ingredients are needed to make this addictive pie.

I’m a Cherry fan. I love all types of cherry desserts, but there is something about this rich and creamy yogurt pie that gets me every time.

I think it has something to do with the crunchy crust. I love the contract between the two layers!

Black Cherry Yogurt and Granola Pie

This pie has a combination texture of cheesecake meets pie – and that’s why it’s one of my favorite hybrid desserts.

Adding the cherries on top creates a sweet taste that makes this perfect for summer, winter, fall, or spring. I love juicy cherries!

The final part of this pie is the crunchy granola crust. It’s easy to make, loaded with flavor and perfectly contrasts with the smooth middle of the pie.

Does this pie need to be kept in the fridge?

Yes, since this is a yogurt-based pie, it does need to be stored in the fridge. It is meant to be enjoyed chilled for the best texture and taste.

It is important to ensure you’re storing the pie in the best way possible. Putting plastic wrap over the pie or storing it in an airtight container is key for any leftovers.

This will keep the flavor strong and prevent the crust from becoming soggy.

  • 2 1/2 cups of granola plain
  • 4 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted

  • 1 cup Emmi Swiss Black Cherry Yogurt
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese softened
  • 3 Tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 9 ” pie plate

  • 14 ounces fresh sweet cherries or canned

  1. To strain the yogurt, place 1/2 cup of Emmi yogurt in a strainer over a bowl and allow it to refrigerate for 1 hour. This will drain out unnecessary liquids.
  2. Crust:
In a food processor, pour in 1 1/2 cups of granola, sugar and ground cinnamon.
  3. Grind this mixture until it is in fine crumbs.
  4. Once it is in crumbs, add in butter and pulse it to combine.
  5. Then add in the remaining granola and pulse the mixture into coarse crumbs.
  6. Place the granola mixture into the bottom of pie plate and press it firmly into the sides and then into the bottom to fill the plate.
Put the crust in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow it to cool.
  7. Once cooled, bake the crust at 350º for 10 minutes.
  8. When the crust is done baking, allow it to cool completely before filling it with the pie mixture.
  9. Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, mix the softened cream cheese for about 2-3 minutes on medium speed or until really smooth.
  10. Once the cream cheese in smooth, add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix together on medium speed until completely combined.
  11. Take the strained yogurt out of the refrigerator and add it to the mixing bowl.
  12. On a low speed, combine the ingredients together, but make sure not to overbeat the filling.
  13. Assembling:
Scoop the filling into cooled crust and spread it out evenly.
  14. Place plastic wrap directly over the pie and chill in the refrigerator for 6 hours.
  15. Once the pie is done cooling, take the canned or fresh cherries (drain if canned, but do not rinse) and place on top of pie.
