Instructions to Make Unicorn Donut Recipe
Making these easy unicorn donuts is as fun as eating them! Here’s a simple breakdown:
Serve and Enjoy – Let the frosting set a bit, or serve right away for an ooey-gooey treat!
Set Up Your Decorating Station – Have all your toppings, frosting, and food coloring ready to go.
Color the Frosting – Divide the vanilla frosting into bowls and tint each one with a different pastel shade (think light pink, lavender, sky blue, and mint green).
Frost the Donuts – Spread or swirl the colorful frosting over the donuts using a butter knife or small spatula.
Decorate – Add candy eyes, press in a unicorn horn topper, and finish with sprinkles and edible glitter.
Dessert Tips and Tricks
- Use gel food coloring for brighter colors without watering down your frosting.
- Let kids swirl the colors for a fun marbled effect.
- Add marshmallows or fruity cereal for even more unicorn flair!
Troubleshooting Unicorn Donut Recipe
- Frosting too runny? Chill it for a few minutes before decorating.
- Donuts breaking? Stick with cake donuts—they’re sturdier than yeast.
- Candy eyes won’t stick? Dab a little frosting on the back to hold them in place.
