Strawberry Puppy Chow Recipe

My boys love the mixture of rice Chex cereal with freeze dried strawberries. They’re so good together and create a really great texture and sweetness. The white chocolate candy melts add a great flavor, too.

Since we make this Strawberry muddy buddy recipe a lot, my boys really enjoy the flavor and ask for it quite often. I don’t mind making it at all because it’s just that simple to do.

How do you store leftover puppy chow?

The biggest thing to remember is that you need to store in an airtight container to keep the air out. This will keep it crisp and fresh.

Can you burn the melted chocolate?

You can. You have to be careful here. Keep in mind to melt the white chocolate, you just want it to be melted and smooth. That’s it. Keep an eye on it and you’ll be fine.

Strawberry Puppy Chow Recipe

Such a fun way to make puppy chow!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of Rice Chex
  • 1 package of white candy melts
  • ½ cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup of Strawberry cake mix
  • 1 cup of freeze-dried strawberries

Instructions

Put 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar into a sealable bag. Also add in 1/2 cup cake mix and 1/2 cup of the dried strawberries.

Grab a medium bowl and pour in the cereal. Set aside.

Use a small bowl and add the candy melts and melt according to the directions on the package.

Once they are melted, pour over the top of the cereal.

Stir carefully and coat.

Once done, dump into the sealable bag and add in the rest of the sugar, cake mix, and strawberries.

Shake to coat them pour them out on a baking sheet to let dry.
