Soft Pretzel Recipe

The addictiveness of pretzels comes from the soft and chewy texture. They’re a fun and easy snack because they’re bite-sized goodness. I dare you to try and eat just one!

You’ll find that many people love making pretzels like this because they’re boiled and baked, giving them that chew that everyone craves.

My boys will help with this recipe – and it’s so cute to see their work in the kitchen together. One likes to cut and boil parts, while the other likes to help with baking. Then we all help out with the eating part, LOL!

How do I get chewy homemade pretzels?

Creating chewy homemade pretzels is a task that can be achieved by mixing water, yeast, flour, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl. The dough should then be kneaded for some time before rolling it out.

Conveniently, the rolled form of the dough should be cut into even-sized strips to ensure uniformity in the baking process. Then these strips can rapidly be twisted to give them their signature shape, which will hold onto their shape when boiled.

It is recommended to boil the pretzels with baking soda so that they retain moisture and hence attain their desired chewiness.

Finally, transfer them onto greased baking sheets and bake until golden brown!

What are good dips for pretzel bites?

Pretzel bites are a crunchy and flavorful snack that pairs wonderfully with sweet and savory dips.

Cheese-based sauces such as queso, nacho cheese, beer cheese dip, or fondue provide an intensely cheesy flavor that contrasts nicely with the salty pretzels.

Creamy hummus is an excellent option for pretzel bites on the lighter side, delivering a combination of rich flavors from tahini and garlic.

For something more indulgent, try pretzel bites alongside a mixture of ricotta cheese, cream cheese, and sugar for a dessert-inspired dip.

If you’re looking to mix things up further in the flavor experience, consider adding herbs or spices to your various dip recipes to give them more complexity when served with pretzel bites.
