Making this black ice cream is a great way to have the kids join in and help as well. It’s fast, tasty, and simple. They can help with the mixing and getting those stiff peaks from the ingredients and stirring, and learn how to be patient as it’s setting up in the freezer. But we all know that when people help cook and make, they’re going to love being the first to dive in!

My boys love ice cream, as do I. This treat is one that we like to make and enjoy together. It’s really fun and perfect for any occasion.

Can you leave out the strawberry frosting?

If you want to pair down the sweetness, the frosting is optional. You don’t have to add it to the recipe at all. Simply leave it out if you don’t want it – simple as that.

  • 4 cups of heavy whipping cream
  • Food coloring in the colors of purple, pink, black, & teal
  • 1 T of vanilla
  • Galaxy Sprinkles

Divide into 4 bowls and add the pink frosting to one of the bowls with the food coloring.
