How do I store baked bread to keep it fresh?

For the freshest, most delicious baked bread, there are a few simple steps you can take to store it properly and maintain its peak quality.

To start, wrap the loaf tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This will keep air and moisture from reaching the bread, preventing it from going stale.

You can also store a freshly-baked loaf in a reclosable plastic bag.

Keep it at room temperature for up to three days, away from any direct light or heat sources.

For longer storage, freeze the bread for up to two months and thaw in the packaging for the best taste results.

By following these tips, your loaf of bread will have a just-baked taste and texture every time!

What are the best ways to use stale bread?

Stale bread can be a great way to add texture and unique flavor to different dishes. There are plenty of ways to get creative with stale bread.

One of the best ways is making homemade croutons. Start by cutting the stale bread into cubes and lightly coating them in olive oil, garlic powder, sesame seeds, oregano, and sea salt. Toast the cubes in the oven until they are golden brown and crisp.

Another great idea is using stale bread as a casserole base or French toast.

For casseroles, soak slices of stale bread in cream sauce and top with grated cheese before baking until bubbly and golden brown.

For French toast, dip thickly sliced slices of stale bread in an egg mixture before frying gently until both sides are crispy and golden brown.

Whatever recipe you choose, stale bread makes an excellent addition to any meal!
