Making a snack board recipe like this means you’re ready to show off and share good food. Snack boards have been my go-to for parties, family gatherings, and more.

Do I serve a charcuterie board with plates?

Providing plates is generally a good idea when serving a charcuterie board. While the board serves as a centerpiece that invites people to nibble, plates allow guests to create their selections without crowding around the board.

This helps maintain a tidy, organized presentation and accommodates varied portions and dietary preferences. Additionally, plates make it easier for guests to mingle and move around while enjoying their food, enhancing the overall social experience.

Therefore, including plates with your charcuterie board is both practical and considerate. It will ensure that your gathering runs smoothly and everyone feels comfortable.

Can I prepare a charcuterie board recipe in advance?

You can prepare a charcuterie board in advance, which can enhance its flavors and presentation. Start by selecting a variety of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, and accompaniments like olives and pickles.

Slice the meats and cheeses and arrange them on your board a day ahead, ensuring each item has its space. Wrap the entire board in plastic wrap to maintain freshness and store it in the refrigerator.

Add fresh fruits, nuts, and crackers just before serving to keep them from getting soggy. This preparation method saves time on the day of your event and allows the flavors to meld together, creating an even more delightful experience for your guests.

Yield: 1 board
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

This Autumn Snack Board recipe has flavors for everyone! Sweet, savory, and more!

Ingredients

  • Honey ham
  • Salami
  • Goat cheese
  • Brie
  • Craisins
  • Apple butter
  • Assorted crackers
  • Cheese cubes
  • Pirouette cookies
  • White chocolate covered pretzels
  • Honey roasted cashews
  • Manchego cheese
  • Blackberries

Instructions

  1. Slice the deli meat if it's not already sliced. Take one end and fold it in half, then fold it accordion-style. Put a toothpick through the bottom to hold it together.
  2. Repeat this two more times and add those pieces of ham to the toothpick where the first piece is. Repeat until you have done this to as much ham as you want.
  3. Grab a piece of salami and fold it in half to make the salami flowers. Then, fold it accordion-style and put a toothpick through the bottom third of the meat.
  4. Repeat this two more times and add those salami pieces to the toothpick. (this means that you should have three pieces of salami on one toothpick)
  5. Take four toothpicks and arrange them into a square. Roll up three pieces of salami and fit them in the middle of the salami flower.
  6. Take a leaf-shaped cookie cutter to make the brie leaf. Press it gently on the top of the brie - just hard enough to leave an indentation.
  7. Add the craisins into the leaf indentation to fill it in.
  8. Add the meats, cheeses, crackers, cookies, apple butter, cashews, blackberries, and pretzels to set up the board.
