New Jersey is most known for its beautiful beaches, Atlantic City, diners, and locally grown produce such as blueberries, apples, and peaches. You can’t walk down the street here without running into one of these popular foods. 

These 10 food categories include three recipes each from notable professional chefs and home chefs with the recipe testing and dish development done for you. All you need to do is enjoy the wonderful combinations that make these dishes uniquely New Jersey.

Sliders 

Small hamburgers topped with grilled onions and served in a set of three is a delicious appetizer or dinner in New Jersey. You can add cheese or mustard as well. 

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

These sandwiches differ from the traditional ground beef dish. Instead, they feature layers of roast beef and cheese. Additionally, they include coleslaw and Russian dressing. All these ingredients sit on pieces of thin white bread.

Tomato Pie

Cheesesteak Sandwich 

Hoagie rolls filled with thinly sliced meat, onions, peppers, and topped with provolone cheese are found all over the state. 

Salt Water Taffy 

Local makers produce saltwater taffy along the New Jersey beach. Then, they sell it across the United States. This taffy comes in various flavors and colors. Additionally, they wrap each piece in wax paper.

Panzerotti are tomato, mozzarella, and basil-filled baked dough pockets. They are similar to calzones and served for lunch or dinner. 

Pork Roll 

This diner sandwich is served on a round bun and topped with thinly sliced pork, an egg, and cheese and then heated to the cheese is melty.
