What makes cake mix cookies unique?

Cake mix cookies are delicious and innovative desserts in many bakeries, kitchens, and cafeterias. The unique taste of this dessert comes from its preparation process – starting with a pre-made cake mix as the base of the cookie dough – allowing individuals to create a batch of tasty treats quickly and easily.

It’s not just their ease of preparation; these cookies are also incredibly versatile as they can be flavored using combinations of chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, dried fruits, or other ingredients to make them unique.

Plus, cake mix cookies come out light and chewy every single time because the cake mix acts as a supersized egg replacer, adding moisture to the dough.

So whether you’re looking for something special for your next bakery visit or last-minute goodies for family or friends, cake mix cookies are sure to please.

How do I clean fresh blueberries?

Cleaning fresh blueberries is essential before consuming or using them in dishes. The most recommended way to clean blueberries is by gently rinsing them with cold water in a strainer or colander.

Make sure to remove any stems, leaves, or debris before rinsing.

If the berries appear very dirty and/or muddy, washing and rinsing them a few times may be necessary.

Be gentle when cleaning, so you don’t accidentally damage the fruit.

Once cleaned, spread the berries in a single layer on paper towels to absorb excess moisture and let the blueberries air-dry for 10-15 minutes before storage or eating.

Following these steps will ensure delicious and safe blueberry consumption!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • ½ cup of softened butter
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 3 tbsp. lemon zest - 1 tbsp. will be for the icing
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1½ cups of fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Mix the cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add the lemon extract and 2 Tbsp of the lemon zest. Mix lightly.
  2. Add the egg and mix until just combined.
  3. Pour in the cake mix and mix well.
  4. Fold in the blueberries so that they don't break apart. Do not overmix.
  5. Put plastic wrap over the top of the bowl and put the dough in the fridge to chill for a few hours. This will cause the sticky cookie dough to firm.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Add parchment paper to a baking sheet.
  7. Roll the cookie dough into balls that are smaller in size. Space them out on the parchment paper and leave about 3 inches between each cookie.
  8. Put the cookies in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until they are turning golden brown. Put them on the center rack in the oven while they are baking.
  9. Take the cookies out and let them cool on the pan for 10 minutes. Then move them to a cooling rack.
  10. To make the icing, add the sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice to a bowl and whisk.
  11. Drizzle over the top of the cooled cookies.
