The most significant difference in this waffle recipe is that it makes cake-like waffles. They’re light and fluffy and still have those little pockets to hold all that syrup. What more could you want?

You can use this recipe as a fun way to treat the kids and have a special breakfast for them on the weekends!

My boys have had a ton of waffle recipes in the past, but they always say this is one of their favorites! I love that they love it because I love it, too!

How do I store cooked waffles?

Finding a way to store cooked waffles can be tricky because they are so delicate. The best way to store your cooked waffles is in an airtight container or bag.

Make sure you use a container that leaves room for air circulation, as this will help keep the waffles from becoming stale.

If storing multiple days’ worth of waffles, stack them in layers with wax paper between each layer to help preserve their freshness.

Additionally, waffles are also freezer-friendly and can last up to two months stored in the freezer if wrapped first with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and placed in a freezer-safe bag.

Waffles stored properly can be a quick and tasty snack anytime!

What are the best waffle toppings?

Waffle toppings are one of the best ways to take a delicious breakfast staple and make it extraordinary.

From sweet syrup and fresh fruit to rich chocolate and marshmallows, there are endless possibilities when deciding what to add to your waffle.

For a classic combination, consider adding sliced bananas along with peanut butter. The creamy smoothness of the peanut butter will provide an exciting contrast to the sweet banana slices on top.

Try topping your waffle with your favorite ice cream, whipped cream, and hot fudge sauce for the ultimate indulgence.

But if going for something healthier is more your style, try piling a few pieces of granola and some diced apples over a drizzle of honey or yogurt for a light but delicious treat!
