Best part? They’re one of my favorite game day appetizers that are perfect for a baseball game watch party or baseball baby shower – all of the parties! LOL!
One of best parts, though is that these little corn dog bites are NOT frozen and just warmed up. They’re a tasty treat that’s 100% homemade.
So, grab your mustard and ketchup and let’s get making!
Mini Corn Dogs Recipe
Making your own homemade mini corn dogs is so easy, you’re going to be amazed. If you start with a mix that cuts out a whole bunch of steps like measuring out your sugar and baking powder, etc.
Then, with your dry ingredients and the wet ingredients in a bowl, whisk them together, heat the oil (about 4 inches of oil in the bottom of a pan) and pour the batter into a cup. Dip the corn dogs in the batter then place them in the hot oil until they’re golden brown.
Pop them onto paper towels and let them cool before chowing down!
What’s the Best Way to Make Your Own Mini Corn Dogs? Baked or Fried?
Look, I love a good baked recipe – there are a TON of foods you can make in the oven and maybe they taste better even than if they’d been fried. But, not mini corn dog bites.
Seriously, there is just something so much yummier about fried cornmeal batter wrapped snugly around a hot dog than a baked breaded mess. So, if it’s my vote, it’s all about frying in this situation.

- 4 Hot Dogs
- 1 1/2 cups Corn Meal Mix
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 egg
- Heat about 4-inches of oil to about 350-degrees (approximately - just no less than 300 or you won't get a crispy exterior).
- Cut each of your hot dogs into thirds, then push in sticks through one end of each 1/3 hot dog piece.
- Whisk together the dry and wet ingredients until smooth, then place in tall glass.
- Dip one skewered hot dog at a time into the batter, swirling it until the hot dog is completely coated plus about 1/4-inch up the stick.
- Place one coated dog in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes, turning it halfway through.
- Remove the corn dog from the hot oil and place on cooling rack over paper towels to maintain the crunchy exterior and enjoy!
