What are the best toppings for baked casseroles?
When deciding the best toppings for baked casseroles, there are various factors to consider.
First and foremost, the topping should complement the casserole flavors without overpowering them. This requires a delicate balance between the ingredients in the casserole itself and the toppings added to it.
Some popular options include cheeses like Parmesan or cheddar, breadcrumbs, and herbs like parsley or thyme.
It’s important also to consider the texture of the topping, as it should provide a slight crunch or crispy finish to the casserole.

What toppings go well with an egg casserole recipe?
Combining the creaminess of shredded cheese with the crunch of diced vegetables, such as bell peppers and onions, can provide a balanced texture and flavor profile.
For those who prefer a more elevated taste, adding prosciutto or smoked salmon can offer a luxurious and sophisticated touch.
Furthermore, adding fresh herbs, such as parsley or thyme, can provide freshness and fragrant aromas that tie the dish together.
