Simple and Easy Homemade Blackberry Biscuits

Sharing is caring!

These Homemade Blackberry Biscuits are such a good treat. Not only are they perfect for breakfast but when you serve warm and top with a little bit of whipped cream, they become a delicious homemade dessert recipe, too.

Clear off your work surface in the kitchen and begin the baking process. There’s no time like the present to get started.

blackberries and biscuits make this southern breakfast treat

There’s nothing quite like homemade golden brown biscuits. I love the sweet taste of blackberries combined with that fluffy flour mixture. Not only are these biscuits good on their own but they’re really great with a nice cup of coffee, too.

Making these biscuits isn’t hard but you’re going to want to make certain that you gently fold in the blackberries so that they hold their shape.

If not, they’re going to leak out the liquid and you might end up with purple or blue biscuits!

Since my boys have quite the appetite, I can make up a batch of these and they’re going before I even get to take a bite. Doubling the recipe is always a smart move for me in my house.

How do I know when these buttermilk biscuits are done baking?

You’re going to have to keep an eye on the top of the biscuits while they’re baking in the oven. Once you see the top turning a golden coloring, it’s a good sign that they’re done and ready to pull.
