this holiday candy recipe is spooky but sweet

These chocolate dipped pretzels for halloween are so fun already, but if you wanted to really ratchet up the halloween crazy, you could add a third eye in the middle, or a melted chocolate “stitches” instead of the candy eyeballs on one side.

The possibilities are endless.

And I don’t know about you, but I love a sweet and salty treat, and you could do so much with the excess chocolate like making matching pretzel rods or other Halloween snacks.

How to Make Easy Halloween Ghost Pretzels:

This is a super simple recipe. The biggest thing is to melt some chocolate. You can use candy melts (that’s what I did), but if you prefer white chocolate chips, you can still make these fun Halloween pretzels with it.

Just melt the chocolate in the microwave, add a teaspoon of coconut oil and your food coloring, then stir until well combined. Repeat with the remaining colors and you’re ready to go.

Then you fill the top two holes with chocolate and put on the M&M candies to make your eyes.

Simple as that!

You can expect chocolate covered pretzels to last for about 7-10 days on the counter in an airtight container. I don’t recommend refrigerating or freezing. But, trust me, if you have little ones in the house, these screaming ghost pretzel candies for Halloween won’t last that long, anyway!

How cute are these easy Screaming Ghost Pretzel Candy treats?! They're also remarkably simple. I love that the kids could help make them--and they loved eating them!

Ingredients

  • White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  • Mini M&M’s
  • Wilton’s Colored Chocolate Melts (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, or any colors you would like)
  • Sandwich size baggies

Instructions

  1. Place pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. No need to put any space between them.
  2. Place ½ cup of each of the colors of chocolate in it's own microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Melt each chocolate according to the directions.
  4. Transfer each color of the chocolate into it's own baggie and then snip corner, to make piping bags.
  5. With one baggie of chocolate, fill the top two holes of some of the pretzels. Place two M&M’s in this filled chocolate area in order to make eyes.
  6. Repeat with the different chocolate colors on more pretzels.
  7. Allow the pretzels to dry completely.
  8. Enjoy!

Notes

If you melt all of the chocolate at once, you will need to work quickly before the chocolate hardens in the baggie. If you want, you can do one color of chocolate at a time to make it less rushed.
