Spooky Good Halloween Recipes

Sharing is caring!

Now is the time to start prepping for Halloween! If you’re a fan of spooky, delicious treats, sweets, and recipes, this list is for you. You can never be too prepared when you’re planning for this time of year!

You’ll find silly and spooky, and everything in between, all listed below. Perfect for kids and adults, your Halloween party is going to be the talk of the town!

Having themed recipes makes it super special and fun, which is why I love making lists full of good food! I come back to this often during Halloween and try to make as many as I can.

How early should I start prepping for a Halloween party?

You’ll want to start earlier than you think—it sneaks up fast! Here’s a good timeline:

  • 6–8 weeks before (early September): Pick a theme, book a venue (if not at home), and send “save the date” notes if it’s a big party.
  • 4–6 weeks before: Plan your menu, order any specialty decorations, and decide on costumes if you’re dressing up.
  • 2–3 weeks before: Send official invites, start DIY crafts or décor projects, and test recipes if you’re trying something new.
  • 1 week before: Deep clean the party space, prep non-perishable food, and set up as much décor as you can.
  • Day before/day of: Finish food prep, add perishable décor (like carved pumpkins), and do final touches.
