I love making this recipe for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This dish’s pumpkin flavoring is perfect with the rest of the holiday dishes.

My boys also love this recipe because they love the praline flavor. I have been making it for years, and it’s one of my favorites! Just wait until you take your first bite!

You can easily make this for your next holiday gathering because it’s a large portion to feed a crowd. Sometimes, I’m lucky and have leftovers to treat myself the next day!

This Pumpkin Praline Trifle Recipe is perfect for sharing! Find out how simple it is to make!

Ingredients

Cake Layer Ingredients:

  • 1 yellow/white cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup milk

Praline Layer Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Cream Cheese Pudding Layer Ingredients:

  • 2 3.4-ounce packages instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 8-ounces room temperature cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Garnish:

  • 1/2 cup caramel syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9X13 baking pan with nonstick spray. Also, spray a large baking sheet.
  2. Mix the cake mix, pumpkin, milk, oil, eggs, and pumpkin pie spice in a bowl. Use a mixer and beat on medium-low for about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into the 9X13-inch pan and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the pudding and milk to a bowl and beat on medium speed for 1 minute with the mixer. Set aside and let it thicken for about 10 minutes.
  5. Mix in 1 cup of whipped topping. Set aside.
  6. Add the cream cheese and butter to a mixing bowl and beat with a mixer for 2 minutes. Slowly add the powdered sugar.
  7. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding and mix for one minute on low.
  8. In a different bowl, add the brown sugar, pecans, and heavy cream. Toss until the pecans are coated.
  9. Spread the mixture onto the baking pan and bake for 20 minutes or until the mixture is dried.
  10. Once the baked cake has cooled, cut it into 1-inch pieces. Layer them in a trifle bowl.
  11. Add 1/2 of the cream cheese mixture on top of the cake squares.
  12. Add a handful of the pecans and drizzle with the caramel syrup.
  13. Repeat the layering steps and then serve immediately.
