Can we all just agree that these truffles look awesome? They’re easy and fun to make and pack such a huge punch of flavor. We love sweet treats!

Once you break up the cookies using the food processor, the rest of this recipe is so easy to make. Just keep in mind that they don’t all have to be the exact same size but a little bit of uniformity is always good. You’re going to see a size difference when you put them on the baking sheet but don’t worry – that’s just fine!

You may also need to add some vanilla extract as well depending on if the sugar cookies you’re using have that in them or not.

The other great thing about this truffle recipe is that it’s one of those desserts that you can grab and eat as you’re walking out the door. My boys love that and it also means less dirty dishes and cleaning up for me!

Are dessert truffles hard to make?

They’re not hard at all. Melting chocolate in a medium bowl is really about the hardest part of this recipe. The rest is crumbling, molding, and being patient enough to eat them.

Ingredients

  • 10 sugar cookies
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of funfetti candy melts
  • Funfetti Sprinkles
  • 1 Tablespoon of shortening, optional

Instructions

Start by greasing two cookie sheets.

Put the sugar cookies and the cream cheese in your food processor and combine to form a dough.

Scoop out 1 tablespoon-sized scoop of dough and roll into a firm ball.

Put the candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and put them in the oven to melt in 25-second intervals.

If the chocolate isn't soft, this is where you can add in a bit of shortening.

Take the sugar cookie ball and dip it into the melted candy coating. Let the extra drip off.

Put on the cookie sheet to firm up.

Put the candy melt in a piping bag and snip the bottom. Let it drizzle over the truffles.

Add sprinkles. Let set before serving for about 1 hour.

Notes

You may also need to add some vanilla extract as well depending on if the sugar cookies you're using have that in them or not.
