Can you use other flavors of ice cream?

Well, Egg nog is a traditional holiday drink made with milk, cream, sugar, and eggs. The eggs are beaten until they are light and frothy, and then the other ingredients are added. One of the key ingredients in egg nog is vanilla extract, which gives the drink its characteristic flavor.

However, other flavors of ice cream can be used in place of vanilla extract. For instance, chocolate or coffee ice cream can be used to create a more indulgent egg nog.

Or, for a lighter twist on the classic recipe, try using mint or lemon ice cream.

No matter what flavor you choose, adding ice cream to your egg nog will give it a rich and creamy texture that is sure to please everyone at your holiday gathering.

What can I use instead of ice cream?

There are actually a few variations that you can do to this float recipe. If you don’t want to use ice cream, you can use a tub of whipping cream in its place. It’s still creamy – and delicious!

You can also cut down on some of the sweetness by using only 1/2 of the eggnog and then adding in 2 cups of milk.

You do need something sweet and creamy, like ice cream or whipped topping, for this recipe, so make it both ways and see what you like the best.
