Can popcorn be a dessert?

Popcorn has always been considered a classic snack, often enjoyed when watching movies or sporting events. However, in recent years, there has been a growing debate about whether popcorn can be classified as a dessert.

While traditionally, dessert is seen as something sweet and indulgent, some argue that popcorn can also fit this description.

For example, caramel popcorn or kettle corn can be made with added sugar or other sweeteners, creating a sweet and savory flavor profile that is not dissimilar from many dessert foods.

For this reason, I say that popcorn is absolutely a dessert! Or at least in my house, it is!
