From the moment that you whip up this simple potato salad, you’re going to be able to tell that it’s hearty and delicious.

The chunks of potato will have you scooping out a second helping before you’ve even finished your first!

My absolute favorite meal is to pair this potato salad with some Bush’s Baked Beans and a juicy Slow Cooker Spiral Ham! I could eat that meal everyday and never tire of it!

Since you really only have to worry about combining the ranch seasoning and the mayonnaise to get the flavor and taste, this potato salad recipe just couldn’t be more simple.

The longest part of this easy recipe is actually waiting for the potatoes to steam. But once that is done, the rest is simple from there!

I’ve had a ton of different potato salad recipes over the years but this one is one of my favorites, along with this incredible German Potato Salad. The ranch flavoring just keeps me coming back for more and the boys in the house agree!

How do you know when potatoes are done cooking?

They should be fork tender when they’re done. It’s just a simple method of taking a fork and poking the middle of the potato.

Once you bring to a boil for a few moments, potatoes really don’t take all that long to cook.

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Potato Salad

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Additional Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

    1.Clean, peel, and cut the potatoes then place them in a steam basket and steam them until tender. Once done, take and emove from the basket and transfer them to a bowl. Season them with salt and pepper and place them in the fridge to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes.
    2.Grab a small bowl and mix the mayonnaise and ranch dressing. Then, take and pour the mixture over cooled potatoes. Stir.
    3.One that is done, take and add the cheddar cheese and bacon. Stir.
    4.After that, put the potato salad into the fridge to chill for at least an hour before eating.
