Buffalo Chicken is a staple at any tailgating party. We’ve all tried Buffalo Chicken Wings, Buffalo Chicken Dip… but what about Buffalo Style Chicken Pasta Salad??! Break out your favorite hot sauce and let’s try a new recipe for the Ultimate Tailgating Party!

Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad

Hi, I’m Heather, and I blog over at French Press I’m SO excited to be a guest today at Southern Mom Cooks.

As a Buffalo, NY girl, and a BIG football fan, I know a thing or two about tailgaiting. For me, that ALWAYS includes Buffalo style chicken. Wings aren’t the easiest, and they do NOT travel well {best eaten RIGHT away}, but hot sauce is a must for any tailgate.

Pasta salad is my favorite go-to. It can be eaten warm or cold, you can make it ahead of time, and it is SO easy to transport. Perfect for a party at the stadium or your living room.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pasta Salad is the perfect game day salad! It has all of the elements of Buffalo style chicken wings but with less of a mess!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of Frank's Red Hot {original}
  • 1 lb of pasta {any shape}
  • 2 stalks of celery {diced}
  • 2 large carrots {diced}
  • 1 red or orange bell pepper {diced}
  • Blue Cheese Dressing

Instructions

    Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

    Marinade the chicken in the hot sauce for at least an hour {the longer the better}

    Cook the pasta according to the package directions.

    Remove the chicken from the marinade {discard the sauce}
    grill chicken {med-high} until it is longer pink {about 10-15 minutes per side - depending on the size of your chicken breasts}

    Cut {or shred} chicken and toss with the pasta and vegetables.

    Top the pasta with the blue cheese dressing {the amount you use will vary on your preference - I used about 1/2 cup} and toss to coat the salad.
