Within 20 minutes you will have a tasty side dish that your guests will rave about. This side dish would go great with a Crockpot Pork Roast, you will not be disappointed. There is a sweetness in these onions that kids and adults alike just can’t get enough of.

If you haven’t tried Glazed Pearl Onions, you are seriously missing out. Not only are these very affordable to make but they taste amazing! This is one of those side dishes that will fit into just about any budget. You can even pick up large quantities of these onions and store them in the freezer till you are ready to cook them up. Keep in mind that onions tend to lose some of their texture when frozen. You should always freeze onions as soon as you get them.

Total Time: 25 minutes

This is one of those side dishes that will fit into just about any budget.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 pound frozen pearl onions thawed and patted dry
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme or 1/4 teaspoon dried
  • 2/3 cup water

Instructions

    In a skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Add onions and cook until browned, at least 5 minutes. The longer they cook, the sweeter they become.


    Add remaining ingredients and cook until tender and liquid has evaporated, about 15-20 minutes.
