This Taco Bento Lunch Idea is the perfect way to kick off Taco Tuesday! Stop stressing out over what to pack the kids for lunch, and whip up this tasty idea. Who doesn’t love Tacos?  You can easily make this lunch for your kids by using leftovers from the night before.  Be sure to check out the rest of my Bento Lunch Ideas for Kids as well!

Making a taco lunch box snack like this is one of my favorite kid friendly meals. Not only that but a Taco bento box is just super fun to eat, too! Use these bento box lunch ideas as a great way to make quick and easy kid friendly recipes that kids love to eat!

Taco’s are one of my kids’ favorite meals, so having tacos for lunch instead of peanut butter is their favorite!  Plus, it’s easy to make by using leftovers from the night before!

Boxed Lunch Ingredients:

You can find a printable recipe with instructions and ingredients below, but I like to show the ingredients list with (affiliate) links to help you see what we used for this box.

This is a really easy lunch to make, and I love that it is made from last night’s dinner! You can even add in some black beans and sour cream for more tastes!

  • Taco Meat
  • Cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Chips
  • Cupcake or another dessert

We may not have included all ingredients above, like pantry staples. So be sure to reference the entire recipe card below!

What if you don’t have a way to reheat the meat?

If there isn’t a way to reheat the meat, then leave it out and have the kids make a vegetarian taco instead! You can easily add the ingredients without the meat and still have a delicious taco salad bento box for the kids.

Important Tips for this Bento Box Idea:

If you’re going to prep these kid friendly meals the day or night before, just be sure that you add the chips later. The chips can become soggy sitting in the container.

You can change up the type of cheese and toppings that you want to add as well. This is what makes bento box lunches the best kid frendly meals!

While this taco meal prep is fun, don’t forget that you can easily create a bento box for the kids with other ingredients, too. Add a boiled egg for protein and some cucumber slices for a delicious veggie!

This Taco bento lunch idea is a great kid friendly meal that comes together fast!

Ingredients

  • Taco Meat
  • Cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Chips
  • Cupcake or other dessert

Instructions

  1. Cook your hamburger and add the taco seasoning to the mix.
  2. I used reusable cupcake containers in the Bento box to divide up the Taco fixings.  I used one for the meat, one for cheese, one for lettuce, and one for tomatoes.
  3. Be sure to add chips to make a taco salad or shells if you prefer regular tacos.
