What if you don’t have a way to reheat the meat?
If there isn’t a way to reheat the meat, then leave it out and have the kids make a vegetarian taco instead! You can easily add the ingredients without the meat and still have a delicious taco salad bento box for the kids.
Important Tips for this Bento Box Idea:
If you’re going to prep these kid friendly meals the day or night before, just be sure that you add the chips later. The chips can become soggy sitting in the container.
You can change up the type of cheese and toppings that you want to add as well. This is what makes bento box lunches the best kid frendly meals!
While this taco meal prep is fun, don’t forget that you can easily create a bento box for the kids with other ingredients, too. Add a boiled egg for protein and some cucumber slices for a delicious veggie!

What are the most common toppings for tacos?
Tacos, one of Mexican cuisine’s most beloved and versatile dishes, can be topped with a wide array of ingredients, each adding its unique flavor and texture.
Among the most common toppings, the refreshing crunch of diced onions and the bright burst of cilantro offers a perfect counterbalance to the rich proteins. Slices of ripe avocado or dollops of creamy guacamole introduce a smooth, buttery contrast, while shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes add freshness and a hint of acidity.
Cheese, particularly shredded cheddar or crumbled cotija, lends a savory depth, and various salsas ranging from mild pico de gallo to fiery habanero sauces allow individuals to customize their taco to their desired level of spice.
A squeeze of lime juice is often the finishing touch, enhancing the flavors and tying all the components together.
Why do kids like eating out of bento boxes?
Kids are naturally drawn to bento boxes’ colorful and visually appealing food presentation, making mealtime more exciting and engaging. Bento boxes compartmentalize food, allowing children to explore a variety of flavors and textures at their own pace.
This caters to their curiosity and encourages healthier eating habits by incorporating diverse nutrients from different food groups. Bento boxes’ compact and organized nature makes them ideal for portion control, helping children learn to manage their food intake.
The playful arrangement and the opportunity to discover new tastes make bento boxes a fun and educational way for kids to enjoy their meals!
