Are shakes considered a dessert?
To many, shakes bring to mind summer picnics and family gatherings, but whether or not they are considered a dessert can be hotly contested.
On one hand, shakes can be made with all sorts of flavors to tantalize the taste buds and fit perfectly as a sweet treat at the end of a meal.
On the other hand, shakes are often thick and creamy, mirroring milkshakes that typically have more ingredients than those found in traditional desserts.
It ultimately comes down to personal preference regarding how each categorizes shakes – some will deem them a dessert while others won’t.
What are good shake toppings?
Shake toppings can take a mundane shake and turn it into something special. Topping choices range from traditional peanuts, cherries, and sprinkles to creatively crafted concoctions filled with crunchy ingredients.
Refreshing fruits like banana slices and pineapple chunks provide a flavor boost for each heavenly bite.
Plant-based options such as granola, chia seeds, and hemp hearts offer a nutty and nutritious topping for an extra powerful protein punch.
Of course, no shake would be complete without the perfect swirl of smooth chocolate or aged strawberry sauce poured over the top.
Whether you’re in the mood for something simple or feeling adventurous with something elaborate, there are plenty of good shake toppings to explore!
