Seafoam Salad Recipe

The best part about this salad recipe is that it literally takes just moments to make. Once you make up the jello portion and stir in the pineapple, all you’re going to have to do is be patient for it to set up and get ready. And that is probably the hardest part!

Since my boys love this recipe, they’ll be patient for it to be ready. But once I pull it from the fridge, it’s game on!

How long does it take for this jello recipe to set up in the fridge?

Since it’s mixed with other ingredients, it doesn’t take as long as traditional jello. The main goal is to just get it chilled and cool so that can usually be done within an hour or two.

Are there any fun toppings you can add to this seafoam salad recipe?

Sure! You can always add on whipped topping, mini marshmallows, shredded coconut, or even more crushed pineapple. Maraschino cherries are never a bad idea, either!

Toppings are always a good way to bring out the extra flavor and taste!

Whipped cream is already in this great recipe, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add more! The fun thing about jello recipes like this is that they’re really great for a wide range of options. You can have it at the Thanksgiving table, Easter dinner, or any dessert table at all.

How do I serve Jello Salad Recipes?

There is a big debate as to whether this should be left with the dessert salads, or offered as a side dish. Funny thing is – I don’t think that people should have to choose! If you want to fill up a large bowl and have it for dessert, or should have it on a serving plate as a side dish option, go for it.

Is this the same recipe as pistachio fluff salad?

It’s not, but they’re all kind of similar. Other options that are in the same category would be ambrosia salad or Watergate salad as well. This is because many of these types of desserts use strawberry jello or green jello as their base and then add in the rest of the ingredients to go along with the gelatin mixture.

Some are a bit sweeter than others, and depending on the flavor of the jello, will have their own distinct tastes and flavors. For the most part, they will all have some sort of fruit in them like pear halves or pineapple bits or mandarin oranges. Some might even have a mixture of fruit cocktail in there as well.

Once the gelatin salad is created, you’ll find that there are actually a lot of different varieties of how this type of dessert salad can be created.

My Great Grandmother made this a lot with mini marshmallows. She served it in fancy dessert bowls. I'll have to make it and see if the family likes it.
