Even my boys will tell you that this recipe is pretty darn good! They love that it roasts to be nice and tender, and the added parmesan cheese is a delight.

The way that the cooked cauliflower takes on the flavor of the seasonings is what sets it over the top. Plus, being in “steak” form gives you a hearty meal without breaking those healthy eating rules.

You can whip up this simple side dish in a jiffy or make it your main entree for the night. I’m a big fan of having recipes for foods like this, and I think that you’ll like how this one turns out!

Why is it called a cauliflower steak?

The term “cauliflower steak” has become increasingly popular, especially in vegan and vegetarian circles.

The name takes on the association with traditional steak, a meaty slab that can be cooked and flavored in various ways. However, a cauliflower “steak” is typically a slice of cauliflower, one to two inches thick, that is either roasted or grilled.

The name “steak” conveys a sense of substance and intentionality, making it more appealing to those looking for a hearty, meat-free alternative.

While the name doesn’t do much to explain why the dish has gained such momentum, it does serve as a powerful marketing tool that allows people to envision a meat substitute that still offers the satisfaction of a big, filling entree.

How do I reheat roasted cauliflower?

Reheating roasted cauliflower can be a bit of a challenge, as you want to maintain the original texture and flavor of the dish. One way to reheat roasted cauliflower is using a skillet over medium heat.

Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and place the roasted cauliflower in the pan. Stir occasionally until the cauliflower is fully heated throughout.

Alternatively, you could also reheat the dish in the oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spread the roasted cauliflower on a baking sheet. Place the sheet in the oven and heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until the dish is fully heated.

Regardless of your chosen method, keep an eye on the dish to prevent overcooking. With a little bit of attention and care, reheating roasted cauliflower can be a simple and delicious process.
