My boys are huge fans of Jello. They love how it looks and tastes and how much fun it is to eat. This is one of the best desserts because I don’t have to put much time and effort into it to make it a hit.
I let the magic of the Jello take over – and win the hearts and taste buds of all. Whenever I made this fun treat, people commented how adorable it was!

What is my Jello not setting up?
Jell-O is an all-time favorite dessert enjoyed by people worldwide. However, sometimes we may encounter a frustrating situation where our Jell-O refuses to set up.
There could be several reasons why this might be happening. One of the most common causes of unset Jell-O is the lack of proper cooling time.
When Jell-O is not given enough time to cool, it fails to set up appropriately.
Furthermore, using too much liquid, either water or fruit juice, can also contribute to preventing Jell-O from setting.
Therefore, keeping the quantity of liquid and water ratio in check is always advisable to achieve perfect consistency.
On the other hand, adding fresh fruits or other acidic ingredients to the Jell-O mixture can slow down the setting process since these components contain enzymes that break down the gelatin’s structure.

Mermaid Jello Cups Recipe
This Mermaid Jello Cups Recipe is so fast and easy to make! So much fun to share!
Ingredients
- Blue Raspberry Jell-O packet
- 1 ½ cup boiling water and 1 ½ cup cold water
- ⅓ cup nerds
- Edible Mermaid Tails
Instructions
- Boil 1 1/2 cups of water in a pot. While the water is boiling, add the jello packet to a mixing bowl.
- Add 1/2 tsp of nerds at the bottom of each Jello cup. This will look like rocks under the water.
- Once the water is boiling, pour it onto the jello packet contents. Mix until it is dissolved.
- Pour the cold water into the hot water and stir for 30 seconds.
- Pour the jello into each cup, filling 3/4 full.
- Put the cups in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Remove and make sure that the Jello is set. Put the mermaid tails and mini forks into the cup.
