Maple Pecan Fudge Recipe

To make fudge that tastes like pancakes, this recipe is your answer! The maple flavor brings back memories of lazy Sunday mornings. And those pecans? They add the perfect crunch to every bite.

You don’t need fancy equipment or chef-level skills to make this. You need a few simple ingredients and a bit of patience. The hardest part is waiting for it to set!

Let me share the secret to getting that perfect fudge consistency. It’s all in the timing. Cook it too long, and it’ll be too hard. Not long enough, and it won’t set. But don’t worry—I’ve got you covered with the perfect instructions.

How do I know when the fudge mixture is ready to pour?

As I said, timing is the key to making fudge. You’ll know the mixture is ready when it is completely melted and well combined. It should look smooth and glossy.

If unsure, give it an extra minute or two to stir. It’s better to overcook slightly than undercook. Once it’s ready, pour it over the crust before it starts to set.

Can I use real maple syrup instead of maple extract?

Yes! Real maple syrup can add a wonderful flavor to your fudge. Just keep in mind that it might change the texture a bit. You’ll need more syrup than extract to get the same maple punch.

If you use maple syrup, reduce the corn syrup in the recipe. This will help keep the sweetness balanced. Start with two tablespoons of maple syrup and adjust to taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ tablespoon molasses
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Add parchment paper to a 9X9 baking dish.
  2. Put the pie crust in the baking dish and press it to fit the shape of the dish. You can use a knife to cut any excess dough. You want it to lay flat in the bottom of the dish.
  3. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 9 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Add the white chocolate chips, brown sugar, corn syrup, evaporated milk, butter, and molasses to a saucepan. Stir over medium heat.
  5. Stir until everything melts and is combined.
  6. Take the pan off the heat and add the extract and salt. Stir.
  7. Once the pie crust is out of the oven, pour the fudge mixture into the pan on top of the baked crust. Spread it out evenly.
  8. Top with the chopped pecans and press them lightly into the fudge mixture.
  9. Let it cool at room temperature or in the fridge for 1 hour before slicing and serving.
