Cinnamon Roll Sticky Buns with Pecans Recipe

I still call them sticky buns, but that’s not what my kids call them. They call this recipe Cinnamon Roll Sticky Buns – and it’s the best of both worlds.

Minimal prep work is needed to make soft and fluffy rolls. The boys in my house love to hop in and help – and I have to say that I always appreciate help in the kitchen.

More times than not, we’re snacking on these at other times besides breakfast, but that’s the perk of being an adult and being the one that is helping in the kitchen!

How do I store leftover cinnamon rolls?

When storing leftover cinnamon rolls, the ideal scenario would be refrigerating them for several days.

If that isn’t possible, freezing the rolls is a good option. Ensure that the cinnamon rolls are wrapped tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap before being placed in the refrigerator or freezer.

This helps to lock in their moisture and flavor since air can quickly cause them to dry out.

When you’re ready to consume them, remove them from the refrigerator or freezer and warm them up in a conventional oven, microwave reheating plate, or stovetop.

Enjoying your cinnamon rolls at their fullest requires some extra work upfront, but it’s worth it!

What nuts can I use on cinnamon rolls besides pecans?

The versatility of cinnamon rolls is one of their best features, and with the correct nuts, they can have even more complexity.

Walnuts are ideal for a salty, rich flavor because they provide a solid nutty taste that pairs wonderfully with cinnamon and sugar.

Almonds also work great since they bring a subtle sweetness without being overwhelming.

You can have a deliciously flavorful cinnamon roll experience with chocolate chips or some sesame seeds!

If you want to go all out with your cinnamon roll topping, experiment with hazelnuts or Macadamia nuts – both will add an intense nuttiness that pairs perfectly with the soft, sweet bun.
