Charcuterie boards are rising in popularity as increasingly creative snack platters, giving people a chance to put together their own unique finger food experience.

As such, it’s no surprise that there are numerous food items commonly associated with charcuterie boards. These include cured meats such as salami and pepperoni, dried fruit for sweetness, pickled vegetables for a salty-sour kick, olives for a classic flavor, soft cheeses such as brie for creamy richness balanced out by sharper varieties like feta or cheddar, and nuts like almonds or walnuts for extra crunch.

Breads and crackers can give people something to put all these delicious ingredients on.

Do I really need to buy a platter for my charcuterie board?

When it comes to buying a platter for your charcuterie board, you have several options.

The first is to buy a platter designed explicitly for displaying cheese and meats. These typically come in different shapes, sizes, and materials to meet all needs.

Another option would be to get creative and use a cutting board or baking sheet as the base of your charcuterie board.

Not only is this more cost-effective than investing in a platter, but it also provides endless possibilities for adding a personal touch and flair through décor items such as spices and herbs, decorative containers, or artwork.

Ultimately, you want your charcuterie board to be an eye-catching display while still being functional and able to showcase an array of foods.
