Autumn Snack Board Recipe
Building this snack board is all about balance and having different choices. Sliced apples with a sweet caramel sauce taste superb together. It’s a classic mix that people like. The orange-white chocolate is bright and creamy, working well with crunchy pretzels and nuts.
Adding some surprising items keeps it fun. Caramel and cheese popcorn bring a salty yet sweet crunch that most find hard to stop eating. And Oreos? They aren’t just for dunking in milk! These cookies add rich chocolate that fits with the other flavors.
What’s great about this board is how easily you can change things. Only have almonds? Swap them in for pecans or even walnuts. Using different flavors and textures keeps everyone interested.
What’s the best way to arrange the items on the board for maximum visual appeal?
When creating an eye-catching snack board, consider color and height variation. Start by strategically placing your dip bowls—I like to make a triangle shape with them. Then, group similar items in small piles around the board.
Use bigger items like apple slices and pretzel sticks to create borders or dividers between sections. Play with different shapes—fan out the apple slices, create a spiral with the Oreos, or make a colorful candy corn river across the board.
Don’t be afraid to stack items for height, like piling the popcorn in the center. The key is to make it look abundant and inviting, with easy access to all the goodies!

How do you keep the apple slices from browning on the snack board?
I use an easy method to prevent apple slices from turning brown. After cutting the apple, I put the pieces in cold water with lemon juice for about 30 seconds. The lemon’s acid helps slow the browning process.
After that, I dry the slices using a paper towel and place them on the board. This method keeps the apples looking crisp and delicious for several hours, perfect for entertaining.
For planning, you can also store the treated apple slices in an airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble your board.
