Since you’ll be using your microwave to melt the peppermint bark, make sure that you’re paying attention so that you don’t burn it.

Just stir in between each interval and you should be just fine!

My boys love when puppy chow is on the radar because it’s a dessert that is ready in no time at all!

This allows them to grab handfuls each time they pass through the kitchen which just might be one of the reasons that it disappears so quickly!

Sure! I like the peppermint flavoring because I’m a fan of mint but you can easily swap it out for other types. This is a quick and easy way to change up the flavor for a “new” recipe fast!

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Additional Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Just three simple ingredients is all you need for this easy puppy chow recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup of Peppermint Bark
  • 1/2 cup of Powdered Icing Sugar

Instructions

  1. Put the sugar into your bag and set it aside.
  2. Add the cereal into a mixing bowl and set it aside.
  3. Put the bark in a microwave-safe bowl and melt for 25 seconds. Stir and reheat until melted, stir after every 25 seconds.
  4. Once melted, pour the mixture over the top of the cereal and stir. Put the covered cereal into the bag with the sugar and close it and shake.
  5. Put the cereal onto the baking sheet after it's fully coated and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
