When should punch be served?
Punch is a popular beverage served at parties and gatherings. The question often arises, when is the appropriate time to serve it? The answer is simple: it depends.
If you are having a daytime event, like a brunch or picnic, serving punch early on in the event is appropriate.
However, if you are having an evening event, like a cocktail party or dinner party, serving punch closer to dessert time is best. When deciding when to serve the punch, it is crucial to consider your event’s overall timing and flow.
Ultimately, the decision is up to the host and what they believe would work best for their event.

Why can’t I make a punch ahead of time?
If you’re planning a party or gathering, you may be tempted to prepare your punch beforehand to save yourself some stress on the event day. Unfortunately, making a punch in advance is not recommended.
This is because the soda’s carbonation, which is usually a key ingredient in punch, will dissipate over time. This carbonation gives your punch its delightful effervescence; without it, your punch will be flat and unappetizing.
Additionally, fresh ingredients such as fruit and herbs will begin to break down and lose their flavor if left in the punch for too long.
It’s best to wait until just before serving to mix your punch to ensure it’s fresh and fizzy.
