New York is a northeastern state most known for New York City, and it’s a large state filled with vineyards, farms, and the Culinary Institute of America located in Albany. One of its major attractions is the culinary creations and food cultures brought in from all over the world.

Pastrami on Rye

Fresh pastrami sliced thick and layered on rye bread and topped with swiss cheese is a sandwich you have to make for yourself to really know and love its brilliance.

Chicken Riggies 

This pasta dish is made with rigatoni, chicken, peppers, mushrooms, olives and smothered in a creamy tomato sauce. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a punch of spiciness.

This plate filled with “all the leftovers” is famous in Rochester, New York. Start with macaroni salad, add french fries, brisket, spicy chili, chopped onions, pickles, ketchup, and a side of thick white bread.

Cheesecake

Thick and creamy cake made with copious amounts of cream cheese, a small scoop of sugar, and a buttery layer of graham cracker crust is the most famous dessert in New York. 

Manhattan Clam Chowder

Manhattan clam chowder recipe is clams, potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, garlic, bacon, spices, and simmered in an herby tomato sauce. The fresh clams are what makes this dish special.

Buffalo Wings 

Crispy chicken legs and wings baked, fried, or air-fried and then tossed in hot buffalo sauce, barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, or rubbed with garlic parmesan are a delicious lunch or dinner dish served with french fries and coleslaw. 

Lobster Salad Roll

Chunks of fresh lobster and crunchy celery mixed with mayonnaise and lemon juice and placed on a hoagie roll with a side of kettle chips.

Ramen 

Ramen is a soup filled with roasted chicken, mushrooms, udon noodles, and topped with a boiled egg, scallions. The broth is the star of this dish. 

Beef on Weck 

This sandwich is made with roast beef, horseradish layered on Kaiser rolls rolled in salt, and caraway seeds are served in bodegas in neighborhoods all over New York City.
