1. If your kids love marine life, the Dallas World Aquarium is a must-see on your sightseeing list! At this indoor facility, you can get a look at unique and fascinating marine animals, including the electric eel, the orinoco, and the red-bellied piranha. Plus, see land-dwellers such as monkeys, jaguars, and tree kangaroos, as well as exotic birds!

2. Talk about giant-sized attractions! At AT&T Stadium, you can catch a live-action Dallas Cowboys NFL game and watch the game on the largest indoor television screen in the country! Enjoy some stadium snacks and pick up some fan gear from the Pro Shop at halftime!

3. The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden is a lovely, outdoor attraction featuring manicured gardens, exotic plant species, and seasonal programs your whole family will love! Be sure to let the kids explore the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, where they can walk through the treetops on the Texas Skywalk or navigate a giant maze in the Amazing Secret Garden.

4. Older kids and thrill-seekers will love spending a day at Zero Gravity Amusement Park! This attraction is home to five heart-stopping rides, including the Bungee, the Skycoaster, and Nothin’ But Net – an experience that lets you feel what it’s like to fall 16 stories in the air!

5. At the Dallas Zoo, you and the family can walk on the wild side and get to know animal species from all over the world! Exhibits at the zoo include the Wilds of Africa Adventure Safari, Cheetah Encounter, Lemur Lookout, and Giants of the Savanna. And if the kids need to burn off some energy, take them to The Stream, an outdoor nature play area where they can splish, splash, and play safely.

6. If you have little ones, the Fair Park Children’s Aquarium is a perfect kid-friendly destination! While other attractions are designed for all ages, this unique aquarium was built especially with young children in mind. All of the exhibits are eye-level for easy viewing and kids are encouraged to explore and play at several interactive areas, including touch pools and fish feeding times.

7. Get acquainted with the outdoors at the Texas Discovery Gardens! Kids can explore native plant species, flutter with butterflies in the Butterfly House, and take a look at local animals living at the Native Wildlife Pond. Plus, the Scent Garden is a wonderful spot to explore with toddlers who love to smell everything!

8. If your kids are interested in birdwatching, they’ll love the Trinity River Audubon Center! This nature preserve is dedicated to all of the local animals in the Dallas area, but especially the birds! There are bird counts and educational programs for all ages. Plus, admission is free every third Thursday of the month!

9. What kid doesn’t love airplanes? At the Frontiers of Flight Museum, you’ll get to learn about the history of flight – from the Wright Brothers to the Apollo 7 space mission. And, since the museum is based at Love Field, the kids will get up close with some actual airplanes, such as the F-16B “Fighting Falcon” and a Boeing 737!

10. If you’re planning to visit Dallas during early fall, you have got to visit the State Fair of Texas with the kids! This one-of-a-kind state fair boasts some of the largest, most outlandish sights in the U.S., including Big Tex – a 55-foot-high cowboy statue that welcomes visitors. While you’re there, take the kids to see the farm animals, grab some fair food, and ride some midway attractions!
