This Copycat Old Bay Spice Recipe is so much better than store-bought. Home cooks agree that making your own spice blends at home is the best! This homemade Old Bay seasoning recipe adds so much great flavor to crab cakes, soups, and more. It really is the best when it comes to seafood seasonings.

Since we eat a lot of fish and seafood in our house, you can bet that we use this recipe a ton. My tastebuds crave this spice anytime I eat anything that is seafood based!

What is the best way to store this seasoning mix?

When it comes to this spice mix, you need to have it stored in an airtight container. Not only does this keep it fresh but it keeps out any moisture that may be floating around in the air as well.

Ingredients

  • 8 Bay Leaves, crushed
  • 2 1/2 T celery seed
  • 1 T dried mustard
  • 1 T white pepper
  • 1 1/2 T ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 T ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 T ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 T smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 T chile pepper

Instructions

Mix all the ingredients together and store them in an airtight container.
