How do you prep asparagus to cook it?
The biggest thing that you need to remember when prepping asparagus is to cut off the bottoms on the stalk. The lighter part of the asparagus is very hard and chewy, and typically gets stringy when it’s cooked.
Sometimes you can buy already trimmed asparagus at the store, but if you buy fresh, you’ll need to trim off the bottoms.
Can you freeze cooked asparagus?
Yes, you can freeze asparagus after it’s been cooked. The easiest way is to let it cool down all the way and then add it to your freezer. Choose an airtight container or bag for storage.
I always label my freezer bags so I know what is inside – and don’t forget to write the date that you froze them. That way, you know how long they’re in the freezer!
Start from the top of the list and work your way down – and let me know which one you like the best!
